Poland to build new grain terminal in Gdansk

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has announced plans for the government to construct a new grain terminal at the Port of Gdansk, with completion targeted for 2026.

Speaking at a press briefing, Tusk said: “The most important thing is that the Polish state has its own grain terminal and this will allow for a fully controlled grain policy in crises. By 2026, we will be ready with the investment, which will allow us to feel more secure in that (grain policy – PAP) area.”

Arkadiusz Marchewka, Poland’s Deputy Minister of Infrastructure, announced that the project will require an estimated investment of PLN500 million (approximately US$120 million). The facility is expected to achieve an operational capacity of 2 million tons by 2026, with plans to increase output to 3 million tons in the following years.
