Port of Antwerp-Bruges begins tendering process for Maritime Logistics Zone expansion
Port of Antwerp-Bruges proceeds with the development of the Maritime Logistics Zone in Zeebrugge.
Under the slogan “Develop your project at Europe’s gateway”, the Belgian port is initiating a tendering process for a site of 85,000 square metres in a strategically located area.
“This unique opportunity is aimed at both domestic and international investors involved in the distribution or logistics of fast-moving goods,” commented a port official.
Port of Antwerp-Bruges is expanding the Maritime Logistics Zone in phases, aiming to generate additional cargo for the terminals in the outer port and provide space for businesses in a forward-looking environment. The current tender for the development of the site focuses on logistics projects that align with deep-sea and short-sea activities.
According to the port’s statement, the Maritime Logistics Zone offers opportunities for companies active in:
Cold chain: Its location reduces lead times, enabling cold chain goods to be transported efficiently and reliably.
Consumer goods: The proximity to deep-sea and short-sea platforms facilitates both intercontinental supply chains and regional distribution.
High and heavy: The presence of specialised terminal facilities for oversized and heavy cargo ensures smooth handling and transportation.
The tendering process began on 27 February and will close on 9 May. Interested parties can get more information and register at https://www.portofantwerpbruges.com/en/maritime-logistics-zone.
