CMA CGM applies overweight surcharges on India, Middle East, and Red Sea routes
French ocean carrier CMA CGM has announced new overweight surcharges (OWS), which have been effective from 1 April.
In particular, CMA CGM applies an OWS of US$100 per dry container with a gross weight over 15 tons from the India West Coast to Berbera, Somalia & Massawa, and Erythrea.
Additionally, the Marseille-based ocean carrier has implemented an OWS from the Indian Subcontinent and Middle East Gulf to the Red Sea. The surcharge will be US$100 per 20′ container with a gross weight over 15 tons and US$200 per 40′ & 45′ container with a gross weight over 30 tons.
