Prince Rupert port appoints new vice president of business development
The Prince Rupert Port Authority has announced the appointment of Katherine Bamford as its new Vice President of Business Development.
With more than 25 years of experience in business development, stakeholder engagement, and strategic innovation, Katherine Bamford is recognized for her expertise in strategic communications, integrated marketing, government relations, and brand management.
During her 13-year tenure as Director of Trade Development at the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority, Katherine Bamford led key initiatives aimed at international market expansion and customer engagement across North America, Asia, and Europe.
She played a pivotal role in maintaining and growing market share across port sectors by overseeing strategic planning and daily management of commercial outreach efforts.
Bamford holds an Executive MBA and a Graduate Certificate in Business in the Americas from the Beedie School of Business at Simon Fraser University, a Bachelor of Arts from the University of British Columbia, and a diploma in the Anatomy of Shipping from the Cambridge Academy of Transport in England.
She is also an accredited member of the International Association of Business Communicators and previously served for ten years on the Board of Directors of the REACH Child and Youth Development Foundation, including five years as Vice-Chair.
